The tender document is prepared based on the budgeted estimate. The tender covers all the legal, technical and the financial aspects of the repairs of the concerned building. Various items of work and the quantity there of are detailed out in the ‘Bill of Quantities’. Bids are invited from competent contractors based on the tender document.
The contractors have to quote their rates against the respective items for the specified quantities. Various bids thus received are evaluated on techno-commercial basis and this submission is made to the clients. After holding a meeting with the members, various contractors are called for personal interviews and financial negotiations.
Two or three contractors are short-listed and after conducting their site visits and obtaining opinions from various clients for whom they have worked earlier, final selection of the prospective contractor is made.
